Playing guitar since 1994, recording since 1996, making IR’S since 2020.

It all began with my music world expansion through skateboarding and skate videos. I developed a fondness for rhythm and visual arts. I played the drums for a couple years (8th & 9th grades). After some time with no band I sold the drums, bought a guitar, and began my deep dive into the world of writing, recording, and experimentation.

My first digital audio experience was with the Roland GP-100 that I bought off my guitar teacher and quickly noticed how different cabs sounded in the unit. I drove my local music stores crazy testing out all sorts of cabs with the same amp. Once I got a Tascam 424mkII for graduation it was non-stop recording and testing. I burned though at least 100 cassette’s through the years. Fast forward to trying out an AxeFx II and discovering IR’s and that rabbit hole, I was able to experiment ($$$) with tons of cabs not available to me locally. I noticed something lacking sonically between the IR’s I bought and my recorded tones so I began testing shooting my own.

Cherry Sun Sounds seeks to fill a void with cabs/speakers not avalaible through other IR makers. My goal was to not repeat a cab capture that is available elsewhere (the world doesn’t need another Mesa 4x12) but I make no promises. Hopefully I will at least capture something with some different mics for different sounds.
